Opening: Chair C. Goldsmith called meeting to order at 3:05 p.m.

- Approval of February 24, 2023, meeting minutes – Item tabled until next meeting due to lack of quorum at the beginning of the meeting (quorum later achieved).
- Regional K16 Collab Grant Update (Goldsmith /Hammerstrom)
- Simplified project proposal template to be made available post-Ad Hoc recommendations and ESC direction. Reporting and Final OPSC Guidance on Pathway Implementation and Pathway Completer Definitions + CSJVK16PPathway Projects’ Alignment (Flores) – On 4/3/23 OPSC issued finalized guidance on pathway implementation and pathway completer definitions. On 4/6/23 all pathway leads/co-leads received analysis regarding if their projects are in compliance with the OPSC definitions. On 3/30/23 an email was sent out to project leads as named on the application with reporting instructions.
- Grant Invoicing (Lambert) – Details regarding invoicing process went out via email to project leads on 3/30/23. Partners can begin invoicing once contracts are fully executed. Contracts are anticipated to go out to partners for signature beginning the week of 4/17/23.
- Priority Project Focus Areas Ad Hoc Committee – $2.4 million remaining, unencumbered K16 grant funding. Ad hoc committee needed to identify priority areas. Same parameters as the previous applications, with exception of $500k cap, and able to contract directly with non-profits and businesses if partnered with a K16 institution. Doodle Poll will be going out to set date for first ad hoc committee meeting.
- New Fresno-Madera K16 Funding – $2.9 being returned from Pilot awarded funds (to be referred to as “heritage” funding to distinguish between them and the Regional K16 grant funding). Use of funds similar but not the same as the Regional K16 funds. Projects need to begin implementation by 8/23. Outcomes within one AY and conclude by 6/25. Mini-grant applications are required and will be going out the week of 4/17/23 with 5/31/23 submission deadline.
- Roundtable Topic Discussion: Targeted Project Focus Ideas [some ideas shared: hub or centralization list of WBL-friendly business contacts for K12; youth apprenticeships; food truck/entrepreneurship; banking internships & soft skills development; more K16 awareness building; ethnic studies upskilling Masters]
- Executive Director Updates and Old Business
- Pending projects – Awaiting joint resubmission from UC Merced and UCSF. (They are working on it.) Awaiting guidance from OPSC Legal for Fresno Pacific University’s eligibility for funding.
- Just under 50 people attended CSJVK16P meeting on 3/1/23.
- Pathway Working Group Meetings
- Health – 4/27/23, 11-12pm
- Engineering – 4/28/23, 2-3pm
