  • Approval of June 13, 2024 Meeting Minutes (Action: M/S/A to Receive and File): 
    • Motion M. Delgado (FLDUSD). Seconded by B. Duran (CVHEC). Motion carried.
  • Strategic Conversation: Work-Based Learning (WBL) Partners: 
    • M. Snell, N. Dodson and T. Wan provided an overview of CTFF’s mission and initiatives. Presentation covered the Future Fellows Program, which aims to inspire high school students to become educators through mentorship and professional development.
    • T. Wan shared a video showcasing the first Road to Teaching Conference, highlighting the partnership with Fresno Pacific University.
    • Road to Teaching includes the Earn and Learn program, which offers 14 units of credit, with six transferable units and eight work-based learning units, in partnership with Reedley College.
    • Clovis Community College cohort model includes an introduction to education class and one-on-one mentorship.
    • CTFF has expanded their funded project scope to include a Men in Education Summit. They are currently seeking a space in Spring 2025; please connect with N. Dodson if you are interested in partnering.
    • CTFF is open to bringing the Future Fellow Program to new schools and districts, focusing on themes like STEM, social-emotional learning and recruiting men of color.
  • Strategic Conversations: Open Education Resources (OER):
    • H. Evans shared the rebranding of Coalinga College and the progress made in the OER adoption. Link to slides: 2024-8-27 Coalinga College presentation to FMK16C ESC.pdf
    • OER initiative has helped alleviate financial burdens on students by providing free or low-cost education materials.
    • Discussion regarding the partnership with LibreTexts and the goal of becoming a fully Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) campus within five years (95% of sections).
