1) Welcome & Introductions: Chair C. Goldsmith welcomed attendees.
2) Approval of the December 2, 2022 Meeting Minutes. M/S/Approved: Motion by C. Massetti (MCSOS). Second
by M. Snell (CTFF) Motion passes.
3) Regional K16 Collab Grand Update:
a. Application Resubmissions Status: C. Nies (UC Merced) provided an update on the resubmittal applications for
UC Merced and UCSF. UCSF has a newly formed program focused on medical education pathways and an
outreach initiative. This has allowed UC Merced and UCSF to rethink how the new unit and medical education
initiative partners with UC Merced. A joint proposal between UC Merced and UCSF that focuses on the
Healthcare pathway is in the final stages of being prepared and will be submitted.
b. Approved Project Status: Supplementals have been received from all but one of the projects that were
approved. In addition to the resubmission from UC Merced/UCSF, Madera Community College and Clovis
Community College (Health and Education pathways) are also outstanding. Two projects from the TKCCC that
were previously submitted and did not make the cut score were resubmitted; however, they still did not make
the cut score. TKCCC will be working with the institutions involved to determine if a new project will be
submitted.
c. Updated Guidance on Pathway Implementation and Pathway Completer Definitions: OPSC provided draft
definitions for pathway implementation and pathway completers. The Regional K16 Collaborative Directors COP
group is currently reviewing the definitions and will be providing OPSC with feedback. OPSC is looking for
intentional linkages between a K-12/Community College/4-Year and including an industry connected course. To
be discussed in greater detail at the CSJVK16P Advisory Council meeting on March 1, 2023.
4) Central San Joaquin Valley K-16 Partnership Meeting: The first in-person meeting of the CSJVK16P will be held
on March 1, 2023, at the SCCCD district office in Downtown Fresno. Parking is free and a continental breakfast
and partner swag will be provided to attendees. Zoom option available by request. A best practice from each
collaborative with be presented.
5) Roundtable Topic Discussion: Chair Goldsmith led a though-sharing discussion on potential areas of
collaboration between our school districts, colleges and industry/businesses partners that may have previously
been missed and what can we do better.
6) Executive Director Updates:
a) Site Visit by the OPSC and the Foundation of California Community Colleges: Virtual meeting took place on
January 1, 2023, with OPSC and the Foundation via Zoom regarding current progress. Questions were
provided ahead of the meeting. The FMK16C Executive Director provided a list of projects that we will be
implementing, our board membership, some of the things we feel are working and what can be improved
upon.
b) Pathway Working Groups: FMK16C is sending out emails to those who had previously expressed interest in
being a PWG lead/co-lead to get a list of available dates to start convening the working group meetings. The
working groups are across the four counties. We are still in need of a Business Pathway lead.
c) Ad Hoc Committee for Future Project Recommendations: Doodle Poll will be sent out for the Ad Hoc
Committee to meet sometime in early April 2023.
7) Good of the Order & Adjournment: The next ESC meeting will be held via Zoom on 4/14/23. Meeting
adjourned at 4:26pm.
