Project #8

Keys to Dynamic Guided Pathways: Intersegmental Success Teams

K-16 is building dynamic pathways for student success.

Clovis Community College’s single-subject teachers project focuses on STEM teaching pathways. A central directive of this project is the recruitment and support of underrepresented students living in low opportunity zones.

Clovis Community College’s single-subject teachers project will focus on STEM teaching pathways, one of the areas of greatest need across the state. The efficient program is designed to lead to the Associate of Arts or the Associate Degree for Transfer into the selected major at Fresno Pacific or another Institution of Higher Education. Students complete the pathway by achieving enrollment in a post-BA credential program. One of the central directives of this project will be a focus on recruitment and support for underrepresented students living in low opportunity zones.

The project will include cohorts of 15 juniors and seniors at each of their two sites, Clovis High School and Clovis West High School. The program will offer dual enrollment. Through dual enrollment, CUSD and CCC will begin to address the large equity gaps of college access that exist among African American and LatinX students.
