Project #11

Dual Enrollment Teach Upskilling Pathway – MA degrees for English High School Teachers

K-16 Collaborative is helping high school teachers pursue MA degrees so that they can teach dual-enrollment courses.

Through partnerships with National University and Fresno Pacific University, the Central Valley Higher Education Consortium works to develop a larger number of high school teachers with master’s degrees so that they can expand dual enrollment coursework.

As seen in other projects already listed, the Central Valley Higher Education Consortium will also work to develop a larger number of high school teachers with master’s degrees so that they can expand dual enrollment coursework. Through partnership with National University and Fresno Pacific University, current high school math and English teachers will be offered a flexible, rigorous, online master’s degree program, which will enable them to teach dual enrollment. Cohorts of teachers going through the program at the same time would range from about 15 to 20 students in total. Participants would see a reduced cost of tuition and eventual salary advancement opportunities within their school districts.
