Project #13a

Clovis Unified Collaboration to increase MA degrees for high school English, math and business teachers to improve the delivery of dual enrollment

Explaining life

This Clovis Unified School District project focuses on giving high school teachers accelerated opportunities to receive master’s degrees. The program specifically focuses on the teachers of English, Math Education, and Business Administration.

This project focused around giving high school teachers the accelerated opportunity to receive a master’s degree will specifically focus on the subjects of English, Math Education, and Business Administration. Once they have completed their master’s degree, they will be qualified to teach several collegiate courses that meet CSU and UC requirements for transfer credit.

Specific focus will be given to recruiting teachers for these programs who are either African American or LatinX. Additionally, focus will be placed on recruiting teachers who work primarily with those populations and teachers who work in low opportunity zones. Clovis Unified currently has no teachers who meet the minimum qualifications to teach college-level math or accounting/finance, so this project will solve a desperate need for qualified instructors.
